Fence Post of Faith – July

Northern Iowa you can shut off the water now, we have enough here in Southeast Iowa . Flooding, Tornado’s, Bad weather, where is it going to end? This has sure been and action packed summer so far.  I got to thinking about all of this and realized what a fast paced world we live in.   Did you know that America represents 6% of the people on the face of the earth, and we use 96% of the prescription drugs made today! Think about that for a minute!  I asked my self why? Is it because were all tied up with life? Our lives are dominated by world happenings, Clocks, Calendars, Schedules, Emails, even cell phones! That right cell phones, how did we live before them?

Cell Phones Verse the Bible

I wonder what would happen if we treated our bible like we treat our cell phone?

What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?

What if we flipped through it several times a day?

What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?

What if we used it to receive messages from the text?

What if we treated it like we couldn’t live with out it?

What if we gave it to our kids as a gift?

What if we used it in case of emergency?

What if we use it when we travel?

Oh, and one more thing, unlike cell phone, we don’t have to worry about the Bible being disconnected because Jesus already paid the bill. And no dropped calls!!!!

Makes you stop and think where are our priorities?

Need a fix, or some helpful advice? Its in that little book that we fail to read more. The Bible. In Matthew 11 verse 28 it says Come to me, all of you are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I will give you Rest.

Whoa, that was easy. And the cool thing is God’s word is a free gift.

You know it is funny the more we immerse ourselves in the word of God…the more light we receive…and the spiritually stronger we get which only God provides though his word!

The more we learn about God and his love, the less we care about the so-called pleasures of this world.

It’s really amazing how God Works.

It’s really amazing how God can change us from the lost to the found.

It’s really the greatest miracle of miracle…when we are eating: drinking; and living, and breathing the word of God…we literally see miracles happen all around us every day!!!

It’s a choice of decisions we have to make! What excuse will we give God when the time of Judgment comes?

“ Sorry God, I just didn’t have time for your word.”

I was just too busy chasing after a barrel race or rodeo!

What good will it be for us if we gain the world title, yet forfeits our souls?

Wouldn’t it be great to have someone that we could pour out our deepest thoughts?

Jesus is that gentle person who has strength to help. All we need to do is learn to come to Him.

I want to thank everyone who came to cowboy church at Waterloo barrel bash, and for the donations that went to the people of Parkersburg . Thanks again and Adios your friend Jeff
