Fence Post of Faith May 2014

You ever notice how many books, videos, clinics, are out there are on Horse Training these days? You can spend any amount of money and time you want. But then there those stories like Christy Peterson who bought Bozo for $400.00 out of a feel lot, or Nate Shilabar “aka” Hotshot who was bought by Peyton Raney out of a killer Pen as a 3 yrs. and He didn’t even win any money till he was a 9yrs old. Is it just pure luck?

My oldest daughter Kimber says that luck is what happen when, “preparation meets opportunity” think on that one a day or two.  My dad started barrel racing in 1962 with a bald face one eye gelding name buck, he lost and eye as a two year old and he didn’t give up on him and later he turned into a nice barrel and pole horse. I got my first real barrel horse on my 13 birthday, a black mare with four stocking legs names Cinder.  You might ask yourself where will we find that one great horse, maybe from a person we know, from and add or a magazine, Maybe from a killer pen or horse sale?

Sometime we wonder where we can find answers in our life, where we will find it. Sometimes it may be closer than you think; it may be in that little book we forget to pick up a little more often.  2 Timothy 3:16-17 we read: “All scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work”.

The whole Bible is God’s inspired Word. Because it is inspire and trustworthy, we should read it and apply it to our daily life. The Bible is our standard for testing everything else that claims to be true. It is our safeguard against false teaching and our source of guidance for how we should live. It is our only source of knowledge about how we can be saved. God wants to show you what is true and equip you to live for him. How much time do you spend in GOD”S word? Read it regularly to discover God’s truth and to become confident in your life and faith. Develop a plan for reading the whole Bible, not just the familiar passages.

So spend a little time in God’s word, and maybe just maybe something good may come your way. Jeffery Metcalf
