DOUBLE B PRODUCTIONS, LLC – event rules (these rules apply to Hawki Futurity)
1.WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE ANY ENTRY FOR ANY REASON.
2. No REFUNDS after pre entry deadline for any reason.
3. Dress Code long sleeved shirt – western boots. (western hats/helmets optional) no ball caps stocking caps allowed and grounds for disqualification. Hat fine $10 if you lose your hat and must be paid to barrel setter to get your hat back.
4. Horse substitutions AND rider subs allowed until 6:30 pm Fri. After 6:30 pm Fri horse OR rider subs allowed with $5 fee per change. After 6:30 pm Fri you CANNOT “sell” your spot. Changes must be made BEFORE the first horse runs in each race. NO CHANGES allowed after start of race. (exceptions may be made if a rider or horse is injured before they run and decision will be made at discretion of judge and/or show manager). ANY CHANGE THAT MAY AFFECT A YOUTH CARRY OVER ENTRY ON SAT MUST BE MADE NO LATER THAN 11 AM SAT!
5. No switching of draw positions. HORSE MUST RUN IN POSITION DRAWN! Draw in the official program book shall be the official draw and shall take precedence over online draw. Horse and rider changes will be noted on official’s sheet.
6. All reruns will be the decisions of the Arena Director. Rerun will be on fresh drag. Arena Director’s decisions are FINAL. In the case of a timer malfunction rider will be offered a re-run. PRIOR PENALTIES WILL APPLY. If rider chooses to run again any penalties made during re-run WILL apply to official time.
7. Failure to answer 3 gate calls will result in Officials scratch. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THIS RULE WILL RESULT IN OFFICIALS SCRATCH. ALL CONTESTANTS MUST CHECK IN WITH GATE OFFICIAL THEMSELVES PRIOR TO RUNNING OR THE MAY BE SUBJECT TO DQ. (note …at some locations we require you be in the holding pen PRIOR to the start of your drag check with gate official prior to running for ground rule at each event regarding this issue).
8. A horse may enter each race only once. (Exception for family rule.) To qualify for family rule each rider can only enter on ONE horse applies to children living at home under 21 and parents. Neither “family member” may run any additional horses. This is a hardship rule for family members sharing a horse.
9. Contestants will receive a no time for knocking over a barrel or breaking the pattern.
10. A tie for awards will be handled by a flip of a coin between contestants tied. ANY CHANGES OR CORRETIONS TO SIDEPOT ENTRIES MUST BE MADE BEFORE END OF RACE. ONCE RESULTS ARE POSTED FOR SIDEPOT CHANGES WILL NOT BE MADE. It is your responsibility to check your Power Barrels entry on the official results. If you entered PB and are not marked please tell the office immediately. Power Barrels results can be found online following the event www.powerbarrels.com you will need to have a w-9 on file with Power Barrels to collect winnings those forms can be faxed to the number on THE power barrels website.
11. $20 processing fee required (once per contestant, per weekend). Those competing one day only shall only pay a $15 processing fee. Those competing in the youth 3D only are NOT required to pay a processing fee.
12. $15 per rider per day late fee if entry not post marked by entry closing date. Late entries must be received by draw #100 (smaller races we may change this number check with office to be sure of closings for late entries). Late fees must be cash only. Late entries will have a separate draw and run after pre-entries. Late fee maximum is $45/rider per weekend or $15/day per rider.
13. Number of places paid per race: 100 & under pays 5 places, 101-149 6 places, 150-250 entries: 8 places, 251-399 entries: 10 places, 400-499 entries: 12 places, 500 & over entries: 15 places.
14. 75% payback, 100% added money. Each race is separate payoff. There is NO average payoff.
15. The 4-D format will be as follows: The 1D , fastest time of race, 2D, fastest time of the race plus ½ second. 3D Fastest time of the race plus 1 second., 4D, fastest time of the race plus 11/2 second. The jackpotted entry fees will be divided 1-D 35%, 2-D 30%, 3-D 20%, 4-D 15%. If all placings in a division(s) are not filled, unpaid moneys will be divided proportionately between all divisions. (Youth 3d full sec split) YOUTH AGE IS OF JAN 1 FIRST YEAR (OPEN TO ANY YOUTH 19 & UNDER AS OF JAN 1) YOUTH RIDERS THAT ALSO CHOOSE TO RUN IN THE OPEN 4D ON SAT ARE REQUIRED TO CARRY THEIR TIME OVER TO THE OPEN ON SAT. (so if you enter both the youth and Sat 4D on the same horse you will run one time only I the youth and your time will be carried over – any penalties you occur in the youth will apply to the open) This will eliminate any confusion on rather or not times were to be carried over. IF YOU RUN IN THE YOUTH AND YOU WANT TO ENTER OPEN ON THE SAME HORSE THAT ENTRY MUST BE PAID BEFORE YOUTH RACE BEGINS! You cannot late enter the open 4D and run the same horse again in the open.
16. Must enter a minimum of 3 different shows to qualify for year end awards. Year end awards to be announced. 1d,2d,3d,4d,. 1D-4D BASED ON MONEY WON. Year end awards given at Columbia Mo. If you are not present to pick up your award you must make arrangements to have it picked up or pay shipping. Side-pot money does NOT count towards year-end awards.
17. All late entries paid in cash, no exceptions. (WPRA members showing CURRENT card to our secretary may write a check – however card MUST be shown).
18. All horses must be placed in stall belonging to the arena if staying on the grounds overnight. Only one horse per stall. NO PORTABLE pens or tie outs. Failure to follow this rule may result in immediate disqualification without refund.
19. A $25.00 return check fee plus bank fees will be charged on all returned checks. Once a check is returned contestants must pay by cashiers check or money or cash in future.
20.Any excessive whipping, jerking or tuning in the competition arena will NOT be tolerate. A warning will be issued to leave the arena if not followed a $50 fine will be accessed.
21.All camping and stalling fees MUST be paid Failure to follow this rule may result in immediate disqualification without refund. In addition all fees must be paid. Anyone purchasing camping spots MUST sign a waiver of liability.
22.A w9 form for the current year, with social security number must be on file to issue checks in rider’s name. (this includes youth riders as well!) Signature and date required. All winnings over $600 will be reported to IRS (this includes awards)
23.Anyone circling a barrel more than 1x that is NOT on the bottom of a drag will be fined $50 (gateman will notify you) must be paid before competing again.
24.Forward motion rule in affect—must keep forward motion when approaching first barrel. (no circling in arena before run). Failure to follow this rule will result in DISQUALIFICATION
25.Ground rules for holding pen and dress code may apply (different at each show based on location/weather conditions etc). They will be announced at beginning of each race and posted outside of show office. Please check if you are unsure of any rules. (example at some locations we require you be inside the holding pen PRIOR to start of your drag).
26.NO DOGS OR ANY OTHER CRITTERS IN MAIN BUILDING DURING THE RACE
27. ANY RULE not covered in this page will be dealt with my BB management. BB Production’s decisions are FINAL.
28. ALL RIDERS MUST SIGN RELEASE FORM PRIOR TO COMPETING. RIDERS COMPETING ON HORSES THAT THEY DO NOT OWN ARE REQUIRED TO SIGN WAIVER STATING THAT THEY HAVE PERMISSION TO COMPETE ON SAID ANIMAL AND BY MAKING ENTRY ASSUME ALL LIABILITY AND ACT AS AN AGENT FOR SAID ANIMAL WHILE AT EVENT AND AGREE TO HOLD HARMLESS BB PRODUCTIONS, LLC, SPONSORS, VENDORS, VOLUNTEERS, AND FACILITY OWNERS, IN CASE OF ACCIDENT, DEATH, INJURY OR THEFT TO THEMSELVES OR SUCH ANIMAL WHILE ATTENDING THIS EVENT. RIDER ASSUMES AND ACCEPTS FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY DAMAGES DONE BY THEMSELVES OR ANIMALS WHILE AT THIS SHOW, ACTIVITY OR EVENT.
29. PHOTOGRAPHER – when one is present a photo will be taken of every horse. (flash used) We do not allow contestants to ask photographers to hold flash for any individual.
30.Events are co-approved with the WPRA/BBR. Only 1D money counts towards WPRA approval. Members of each association must make sure correct.
